For Imbolc this year, I am setting my altar anew. I am including
- My blue goddess candle
- Vase full of peacock feathers
- Candle devoted to Brigid, which smells like a lime
- A stone in the shape of a heart, symbolizing Earth
- A glass cloche holding a sage bundle, for air
- An empty candlestick shaped like a branch, for fire
- An empty cruet with sun and moon designs, for water
- Lapis lazuli orb
- Two white candles for the holiday, in bronze candleholders
- The little mask
I have asked that this year I may continually water the positive seeds in me; seeds of love, compassion, and understanding.
Song I wrote for Imbolc:
Milk of Ewe and Light of God,
Show us where the ancients trod
So that we may as they
Worship here in blessed ways.
(repeat as desired)
The idea of Imbolc is that light is returning, and we begin to notice. Winter may yet have gusts and snow to shake our way, but the sun is already growing stronger. Brigid, Goddess of the hearth, healing, and poetry, inspires and brings light during this time as well as any time she is invoked. As a follower of her ways, I yearn to bring warmth and light to others, to heal with my energy, and to continue to express the beauty of life with words and other art forms. I wrote a dedication to her:
“Hearth-mother, fire-bringer, light of inspiration; kindle in me the brightness of life. In you, love abounds, for you are the healing heart.”

Both the song and the dedication are beautiful. And as always, so too is your altar
You are definitely an inspiration, both with your words and your art. Brightest Blessings
